I Can't Pretend I'm Happy
In an era of gratitude and being told that we should be grateful all of the time, it almost feels unpopular and off-trend to ever suggest you’re dissatisfied.
But I don’t think there are that many successful business owners who are satisfied
Because as soon as you feel complete satisfaction - you stop wanting to push yourself and stop wanting to grow.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t have moments of appreciation of what you’ve got or what you’ve done or how you’ve done it.
I think that when we make it taboo to say ‘I’m not happy with what I’ve achieved’, we almost tell people it’s wrong to feel like that
So when they DO feel that way (which is inevitable when growing a business)
We spend more time trying to solve that problem than understanding that it’s pretty much an essential part of business growth.
It’s like imposter syndrome or a scarcity mindset where we should spend less time trying to solve it, and more time sitting with it, existing alongside it and not letting it stop the work that we’re trying to do
