FMCG

FMCG stands for Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, think toothpaste, cereal, deodorant, coke, products that sell quickly, cheaply and constantly.

These businesses survive on tight control of the logistics, the manufacturing, the supply chain, the quality control and the distribution. If one link fails, they lose money fast.

Because the margins aren’t always huge, if they lose money fast for long, they go out of business.

Think about online coaching.

Those things are managing your calendar, managing your inputs, managing your outputs, being in charge of your to do list, being in charge of your projects, managing your leads and clients.

And most coaches are awful at that.

If your coaching was extrapolated to become a product based business or a fast moving consumer goods business, you probably wouldn’t last a month.

Now most people have this idea that AI is going to make us a hundred times more productive and we’re going to ship loads and we’re going to do loads.

Most people still haven’t got to grips with how they manage the internet, the computer, the plethora of distractions that are available to us, and just working for ourselves day to day online.

Until you get to grips with that, AI is going to make you do what you do faster.

If you’re someone who procrastinates, overthinks and ruminates, you are going to do those things, but it is going to feel like your brain is doing them faster.

If you were to take anxiety, rumination and procrastination and speed them up, no one is requesting that because it probably doesn’t feel that good.

Until you manage the very systems that run your business in terms of your personal productivity, you’re probably not going to benefit fully from using AI.
