I Don't Think That's Yours, Mate
Last week, someone copied from a coach I work with
Not word for word, but the type of content, same information, same way of sharing it
This is the reality of you sharing your ideas.
Someone will try and steal them.
And you’ll know, because it’s not like you are copying ideas on ‘5 protein hacks’
Which it’s impossible to claim as yours, as EVERYONE is doing it
But when you share something truly unique and no one else is posting about it, and THEN you see it crop up?
You know that that person is copying you.
And what I would say is maybe different to what everyone would think.
You want people copying you.
If someone is copying you, you are doing the right thing, and you’re doing something different to what everyone else is doing.
Now, this person actually has an audience about twice the size of the coach I work with.
But copying will not help them
Because the coach I work with is using the worldview training that I’m putting together
To share something that is completely unique within his niche, to completely change how his part of the industry thinks and acts
All this person has done by copying them?
Is firstly, given them inspiration for a post indirectly about their harmful messaging 😂
But also It’s given them belief that their content is the right thing
Because people are copying it, and because they know exactly what they believe
The copier doesn’t know where they’re going next with it.
And so when they copy them again in the future and again and again, it will become so obvious that they are just using what he has done to try and promote their own service and their audience will get wise to it as well.
People copying your content is not a bad thing.
Having content where if someone posted similar to yours, you wouldn’t know they were copying?
That’s a problem.
