I May Be Wrong
This might be wrong - and that’s ok.
So might the other thoughts that I’ve shared
Posts that I’ve done could be wide of the mark or ill-informed
I’ve likely thrown things into the public ether that I would now look back at and think ‘I don’t agree with that anymore’
But the thing is, I’m not posting to be right about everything
I’m posting to catalyse conversation
No I don’t aim to be wrong - I want to be honest, truthful, evidence-informed and helpful for the people I work with
If I am wrong, it won’t be from a lack of thought on a topic
It’s ironic that the coaches who worry about posting something ‘wrong’ or getting called out for their posts
Are often the coaches who’ve thought most carefully about what they have to say
Meaning their points are likely going to be a) well thought out and b) Correct
I think there is something worse than being slightly wrong, slightly disagreeable or slightly inflammatory
And that’s being very boring
I think being slightly wrong on the odd occasion is a price well worth paying for having opinions and making people feel something
