You'll Probably Agree With This...

The reason I have a feeling that you’ll agree with whatever I say here…

Is that disagreeing with people is hard

Not in an internet way

Not in a psychologically safe, easy way (I don’t think carnivore is great for health really is not the hot take that people seem to think it is, and it’s probably doing sod all unless your market is people looking for a way out of carnivore)

The reason it’s hard to disagree with people sensibly and politely with actual substance behind a statement you make?

It’s not how we were taught to think

The education system teaches us agreed-upon knowledge

But then we enter a world where people don’t agree on pretty much anything - and your only tool to build a tribe of people who love you and your business

Is your voice, your opinions and your worldview

Which is one of the reasons entrepreneurship is so hard!

The pressure is on us to do the very thing that we’re trained to not do for the first 21 years of our life

However, we must take to this task like Bear Grylls drinking a pint of his own urine

For it is not nice, but it is necessary

We want to disagree with SOME people - and I don’t mean argue or write snide remarks on people’s posts to feel good

But true disagreement involves two things that are in short supply;

As with most things in business - it’s hard to do this.

Luckily like a lot of hard things - there aren’t people queuing up to do them

So your opportunity in 2026 is to stand for something - confidently, consistently and (sometimes) provocatively

To quote George Bernard Shaw,

‘The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man’

We live in a time, in our industry - where we need more unreasonable people
