Your Marketing Doesn't Stop At The Sale

It’s easy to think of your coaching business as separate distinct processes

That happen on a set chronological timeline, something like this.

You do your marketing, and this continues to the point where someone eventually decides they want to work with you.

This is when you do the business bit - you chat to them, convince them your programme is a great idea for them - and they sign up.

Now they’re in, you can take off your business hat, and put your coaching cap on.

Work with them until they finish and have got the result, bid them a fond farewell.

Repeat process.

In reality it’s far more fluid than this, in all of the areas.

One key thing that we forget when someone starts working with us?

They still see our content.

They’re still watching your stories and reading your posts

Probably more closely than anyone else, if I’m honest - because they’ve got money riding on you being right.

I get a lot of clients who will see content I post and say,

‘What you posted the other day made me think of X for this scenario with me’

Or they’ll see an idea I’ve shared, and ask what the equivalent could be for their business that we could build.

Some of our content does two jobs

A post can be sales copy for a stranger

And a reminder for a client having a wobble that they’re doing the right thing, or they’re in the right programme.

A ‘here’s what I’m working on’ story is a lead for someone new

And proof to a current client that the thing they bought is still moving

When we think about coaching, we put marketing at the front door and coaching in the house

But your clients can still see the front door from inside

Sometimes when you’re posting, it can help to stop and ask yourself,

‘What does this tell the people who already pay me?’
