21 Again

Today I turn 21, again

(Well, one of those numbers is right)

It’s always nice when we reach landmarks to reflect on where we’re at

I’m in the sweet spot right now

Doing good but still not where I want to be

I think if we feel like we’re not doing well, then we can become paralysed and stuck in that headspace

If we feel we’re doing unbelievably, it’s hard to have the motivation to keep going and pushing ourselves.

One sign that things are good for me, is that I’m excited about my work

I love doing work that excites me, I love collaborating with people and doing things that I enjoy

I’ve recently thought about how one of the nicest side effects of doing work, is how it often creates more work - more clients, more offers or programmes, more people to work with.

Money is not irrelevant - but it’s not everything - For me it’s a scorecard for how much I’m having fun and enjoying work. If I’m earning more money, I’m usually doing more impactful work that is fun for me, so I try and earn as much money

But not because money is everything - it just facilitates me being able to work on other cool stuff

Walt Disney said ‘I think one of the least interesting reasons to be interested in something is money. We don’t make movies to make money. We make money to make more movies.’
