Explain Your Way Out Of This Mess!

In films, when someone’s caught doing something stupid, the line is never, ‘Tell me what happened’

Because the other character can already see what’s happened.

The line is,

‘Explain your way out of this’.

They’re not asking for information.

They’re asking for an explanation as to why it happened, a story that makes sense of the chaos that’s unfolded.

In reality, that’s what people want from coaches.

No one needs you to tell them that they overate.

No one needs you to tell them that they didn’t eat high protein or that they skipped breakfast or eaten loads of biscuits at 4:00 PM.

They need a lens to see this behaviour through

A way of understanding why they do what they do.

A story that makes their behaviour make sense instead of making them feel defective.

Once someone understands the why, they stopped feeling broken.

And when they stopped being broken, they can actually make a change.

We’re not here to inform people.

We’re here to help them explain the way out of the mess so they can take the next step with some clarity.
