My Weekend Income Booster

This weekend I’m setting myself up to make some serious cash

It’s not (another) new business, it’s not a new offer that’s going out

And given how slow my ‘Taxidermy with squirrels’ course is progressing, I’m unlikely to be hitting that niche any time soon

I’m going to an in-person event.

I must make it clear that I don’t expect income directly from the event

And I don’t know that I’ll make money from it.

But it’s a common trend over my career.

I’d estimate that I’ve earned a good chunk of change (definitely 5-figures plus)

From in-person events

Which sounds weird, when I think about the fact I’ve not run my own (yet)

But as I remembered (again) that I hadn’t packed to travel yet

I also remembered that the two opportunities I was offered for collaboration / work projects this week, came from in-person events

I put out a testimonial from someone who signed up to work with me because of a talk at an in-person event, and we’ve worked together for 14 months now

This weekend I’ll speak briefly about an app I’ve built with a team that includes someone I met at HIS in-person event, and I’ve worked for him for about 18 months now.

I’m getting more and more leads from speaking (and for speaking), and I’ve got better thanks to some help from a voice coach… who I first met at an in-person event.

I’m an introverted generalist who has ADHD and hyperfocuses on weird things that no one else is really talking about, and I make connections between weird areas that don’t typically go together

I’m not the life and soul of events, I’m not a natural ‘people person’ in the sense that I don’t have this personality that people gravitate to

I live in Plymouth, which is approximately 4 hours away from anywhere as a minimum.

However I know that in-person events, and the relationships I form at them? Are probably the difference between me scraping by in a singular coaching business

And having multiple businesses, collaborations, relationships and interests

This isn’t a brag - it’s very much an ‘If someone like me can do things through in-person events, someone normal could do loads more!’
