One Prompt At A Time
Last Tuesday I did a group call with coaches on AI
I answered questions on best practice, helped with individual projects and showcased how I use AI for content creation
And gave some small insights into the Business Orchestrator.
One thing that I found really interesting that I hadn’t thought about in so long, because of the fact that I use Claude Code in the terminal
Was how much time people spend typing something, waiting for a reply, reading the answer, typing another thing and then waiting again.
Not only do I think that this removes most of the time saving by using AI
I think the cognitive drain we experience from this kind of work has not been measured yet, but is underestimated.
We either have to sit there waiting for AI to get back to us
Or we distract ourselves while we wait for a reply and end up context switching by doing a million things at once.
To me, the idea of using AI to help with work is very similar to having an executive assistant who works for you.
And when you think about how you would work with a human, you would never give them one sentence, stand over their shoulder until they’d reply to you, and then give them another sentence.
You’d hand them the whole job and let them go and crack on with it.
You’d tell them what it’s for, what the steps were, what good looks like, where to put it when it’s finished, and you’d go and do something else.
I personally think that’s where the time saving can come from.
It wasn’t until I saw people use it this way that I remembered that the Business Orchestrator had eliminated this bottleneck for me 10 months ago.
You can do this with even the chatbot interface
Briefing it like you’ve hired someone, telling it what the job is, why it’s important, what every step should look like in order, what a good result would look like (share some with it if you can). What to do with it when it’s done, and then leave it.
But I’m a firm believer that the sooner you get used to using these tools in a way that’s ‘best’, even if it’s uncomfortable at first
The sooner you start to unlock the power of AI in your workflow.
